Half of fish consumption

Fish is a very nutritious food, rich in protein and essential fatty acids. Aquaculture represents 156 million tons of fish produced and thus provides 48% of fish for human consumption. In 2010, fish consumption per capita reached 17 kg, according to the FAO. Asian aquaculture accounts for more than 90% of the world’s aquaculture production.


There are multiple challenges in the global aquaculture chain, including monitoring the impact of livestock on the environment… and feed. Vegetable raw materials are, for example, an interesting alternative to flour and fish oil.
