Nor-Feed was established in France in 2003, in the heart of Anjou, the medicinal plant production area. Nor-Feed concept was born with the vision that Synthetic growth promoters used in animal nutrition would be questioned in the future and efficient alternatives should be offered to breeders and nutritionists.
The R&D programs established in partnership with research institutes and laboratories recognized for their plant knowledge, both at a regional and European level, allow the development and documentation of a concise portfolio to propose efficient and natural solutions for animal health and nutrition.Our portfolio consists of 4 product ranges: Nor-Grape® (grape extract), Nor-Spice AB® (citrus extract), Norponin® (saponin-containing plants) and Nor-Oleum (“Natural essential oils”).
The company developed several partnerships, controlled by Nor-Feed Holding, to create joint ventures. Nor-Feed Production was born from the association between Nor-Feed and Adatris Anjou Plantes, a medicinal plant production cooperative and is in charge of the Nor-Feed industrial tool. Nor-Feed Production is located in the aromatic and medicinal plant production area, in a region called “Chemillois”. In 2016, Nor-Feed created its first Asian subsidiary, Nor-Feed Vietnam.
Today, the group represents more than 40 collaborators and Nor-Feed products are being sold in approximately 40 countries over the world.
Natural, efficient and sustainable feed additives
The feed additives developed by Nor-Feed represent natural and efficient alternatives to antibiotics used as growth promoters and, in general terms, to several synthetic solutions used in livestock (coccidiostats, for instance).
Our solutions aim to increase feed efficiency and product quality. This sustainable approach meets the demand of consumers who are increasingly calling for the quality and safety of the products they buy (less antibiotics in particular).
R&D focusing on a few active ingredients
To develop innovative and documented solutions our R&D is focusing on a few plants and molecules (saponins, grape extracts, citrus extracts) in order to understand how they work, to ensure their standardization, their activity and to exploit their potential in animal nutrition and health. Characterized and standardized, Nor-Feed’s products offer documented benefits.
A virtuous logic
From field to feed, the development of our animal feed additives is part of a virtuous and sustainable logic that includes:
- The valuation of agriculture and industrial coproducts
- The reduction of the antibiotics use in livestock
- The mitigation of the environmental impact of livestock (better feed efficiency that reduces the polluting emissions, such as methane and ammonia)

Nor-Feed is located in Angers Technopole, France, and belongs to the Vegepolys competence cluster, a unique combination of research institutes, universities and leading companies specialized in the botanical field, with nutrition, health, and environmental applications, such as ITEIPMAI (Technical Institute of Aromatic and Medicinal Plants) or the SONAS (Natural Origin Substances and Structural Analogues, Angers University).
