Contributes to coccidial risk management and growth

Citronin® XO

Norponin

Features

Citronin® XO contributes to coccidial risk management and supports the growth of animals thanks to the synergic association between standardized citrus extract and selected saponins to both manage coccidiosis and to improve growth performances.

  • Contributes to coccidial risk management
  • As efficient as chemical/fermentation coccidiostats in field conditions
  • Stimulates Lactobacilli Growth
  • Improves animals’ feed efficiency
  • Improves animals growth
  • No withdrawal needed
  • 100% natural

Issues

There are many digestive problems in animals that lead to a decrease in feed efficiency and consequent economic losses for farmers.

In general, bacterial dysbiosis phenomena are an imbalance of the intestinal microbiota associated with a degradation of the epithelial cells of the intestine. These are then favorable conditions for the development of certain pathogens that could lead to forms of chronic diarrhea.

We can also mention certain diseases caused by protozoa, being the case of coccidiosis, which is very frequent in broiler poultry, or cryptosporidiosis, a disease specific to young ruminants.

Finally, we can mention clostridia, including necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium Perfringens in poultry. In this case the most severe forms can easily lead to excess mortality when not treated in time. The incidence of each of these diseases can be considerably reduced in a preventive way thanks to an adapted nutritional strategy and with a good management of the hygiene of the breeding. Some botanical extracts are reliable and efficient solutions to provide an alternative to the use of vaccines and anticoccidials.

Composition

Citronin® XO contains

  • Extracted saponins
  • Extracts of citrus that provide Pectic Oligo saccharides and are standardized in citroflavonoids.

Trial results

This trial was conducted in organic turkey production. 20,000 females, distributed among 10 farms, were slaughtered on day 137. Five farms were supplemented with Citronin® XO

Cocciodiosis pressure and zootechnical performance were measured.

The results show less digestive disorders and better growth performance.

Usage

Mode of action

  • 1

Pectic Oligo Saccharides and flavonoids from citrus stimulates Lactobacilli growth completing the action of saponins extracts.

  • 2

Saponins from Yucca and fenugreek extracts bind to the sterols present in the cell membranes of protozoa. Then, protozoa membrane is disrupted leading to the lysis of the pathogenic cell.

  • 3

Thanks to such complementary effect, gut integrity is better preserved from coccidial risk and/or growth performances are improved.

Various applications

For ruminants

For calves.

For poultry

  • Broiler: Citronin XO can be used in full, in addition, or in shuttle or rotation programs. As Citronin XO being a natural product; there is no withdrawal period needed.

  • Turkey: Citronin XO is recommended on full rearing period to maintain gut integrity and growth performances.
